Pre-activities for Researchers’...

As part of the Blue-Connect 3.0 project, exciting pre-activities have begun with the aim of bringing science closer to children and announcing the main event – European Researchers’ Night!

At the initiative of Kristina Kovačević, a teacher at Medulin Primary School and an officially appointed Teacher Ambassador for this year’s Researchers’ Night, scientist Assoc. Prof. Neven Iveša, PhD, from the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Pula, visited Šišan Branch School on Wednesday, 16 September.

A special educational workshop was prepared and held for the curious pupils, interactively connecting the sea and the land. Through practical examples and discussion, our researcher introduced the children to some of the fascinating topics and environmental challenges that scientists at the Faculty study daily in their laboratories. The main aim of the visit was to spark young people’s interest in science as part of the “I Explore” campaign, with particular emphasis on topics related to the sea and the development of the so-called “blue society”.

Following the successful workshop, Associate Professor Iveša invited the pupils and their teachers to join us at the main event – European Researchers’ Night – where they can look forward to many more experiments, scientific demonstrations and entertaining activities.

This year’s Researchers’ Night will take place on Friday, 25 September, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. In Pula, the event will be held at the New University Campus, Negrijeva 6.
